Exploring the Global Scientific Literature on Food Waste and Loss

The growing global population and modern dietary patterns are the main drivers of current unsustainable food systems, with one most serious consequences being issue waste loss (FWL). FWL is a problem since one-third produced for human consumption wasted or lost yearly. occurs throughout supply chain. In this study, scientific literature on was explored. Social network analysis bibliometrics were integrated to explore in relation environmental impact security. generated maps displayed relationships among keywords, authors, countries dealing waste, highlighting exponential growth studies focusing 2010. results allowed understanding evolution research, identifying important topics research paths. addition, also showed clear shift from an older approach based downstream notion more approach, sustainability, security, consumer behavior, circular economy, addressing by preventing it upstream actions policies. Considering remarkable ethical, environmental, social, economic implications FWL, outcomes study display need developing interdisciplinary approaches methodologies capable providing comprehensive issue.
